Sustainability
Every eCard plants a seed.
A greeting card sounds small — and it is. But multiply it by the billions sent every year, and you're looking at millions of trees felled, chemicals used to coat and print them, plastic wrapping shipped across continents, and envelopes that end up in landfill within minutes of being opened.
Who Sent That was built to make that unnecessary. An eCard can be just as personal, just as beautiful, and far more alive than anything you can pick off a rack. It arrives instantly over WhatsApp, SMS, or email, plays music, animates, and stays in someone's inbox forever — no postage, no packaging, no waste.
But we didn't want to stop at doing less harm. We wanted to actively do good. So a portion of every purchase goes toward real, verified reforestation work.

Our reforestation partner
We donate to One Tree Planted, a non-profit on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the global environment by planting trees. Since 2014 they have planted over 100 million trees across six continents, working with local communities, farmers, and conservation organisations to restore forests where they are needed most.
Every dollar donated plants one tree. Projects are chosen for long-term ecological impact — native species, healthy soil, biodiversity — not just headline numbers. One Tree Planted is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, independently verified, and fully transparent about where every tree goes.
Biodiversity
Projects prioritise native species that support local wildlife, rather than monoculture plantations.
Community
Local farmers and communities are at the centre of every planting — creating lasting livelihoods, not just forests.
Verified impact
Every project is monitored and reported on. You can see exactly where the trees went and how they are growing.
Global reach
From the Amazon to sub-Saharan Africa to Southeast Asia — planting happens where forests are most at risk.
Why it matters to us
We are a small team, and we are building something we hope people use for years. That means the environmental footprint of millions of cards adds up. We feel a responsibility to make sure that footprint leans toward repair, not just neutrality.
Choosing Who Sent That over a paper card is already an act of care — for the person you're sending to, and for the planet. The tree planting contribution is our way of making that care go a little further.
Every celebration is a small moment of joy. We like the idea that each one also quietly adds a tree somewhere in the world.
